DOUGLAS SLAYTON

Douglas Slayton has been an active developer of complex real estate projects for over 30 years. During his career, Mr. Slayton has been responsible for all phases of development, including site selection, acquisition, operations, planning, design, construction, financing, and leasing for several million square feet of real estate. Douglas’s portfolio of investments has included the acquisition, development and construction of residential, mixed-use, self-storage and industrial projects in the NYC metropolitan market area totaling in excessive of $1B in terminal asset value.

Mitch Roschelle has over four decades of experience in real estate finance and accounting. He is a CPA and was a Senior Partner at PwC and leader of its Global Real Estate Consulting practice up until 2020. He has a wealth of experience in real estate development and investment, as well as venture capital investing. He brings to MODRN Living insights from his career, assisting clients worldwide in areas such as business and financial operations, investment strategy, acquisitions and dispositions. Mitch is a nationally recognized thought leader on the housing market and the economy and can be seen regularly on a host of media platforms.

Kevin is a seasoned finance professional with a proven track record of creating value for investors and delivering superior risk-adjusted returns across various platforms. With over two decades of experience in the finance industry, Kevin has held several leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Investment Officer. Kevin started his career as an analyst at a multi-billion-dollar investment advisory firm and went on to hone his investment expertise during his role as Chief Investment Officer at a boutique investment firm he founded and managed for eight years, where he focused on driving innovation and risk management across numerous asset classes.

Brett has over 20 years of experience in underwriting, due diligence, financial analysis, structuring and asset management of real estate ventures involving both debt and equity strategies. Brett’s development experience includes over $200MM of projects completed in both industrial and multi-family property types. Brett has asset managed a multi-state real estate portfolio consisting of multifamily and industrial properties with a value exceeding $1B for a Denver-based family office.

Jonathan is an executive-level investment advisor of 25 years specializing in real estate and finance. For three decades, he has been involved in the underwriting, capitalization, development and/or disposition of over 800 single and multi-family residential, industrial and commercial real estate investments in 22 states resulting in the placement of over $1.5B in debt and equity investment capital. Jonathan was previously the primary real estate advisor to California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) during the “Great Financial Crisis” (2006-2015), guiding $3.1B in debt restructurings and developing strategy for a total portfolio of $20B.

His proven track record with Institutional, Private Equity and Venture Capital Investors is recognized and validated by his ability to consistently deliver lucrative projects including the construction and renovation of over 60,000 keys, 80MM SQ FT of commercial space and 30,000 single family homes.

Suzanne brings 30 years of diverse legal and business experience, including strategic business planning, complex business transactions, tax law, equity and debt financings for emerging companies. In addition to her extensive legal experience, Suzanne has served in significant management and operational roles for a variety of companies.

John is an accomplished business and legal executive, spending the last 25 years specializing in aspects of real estate development, acquisition, transactional, finance, capital markets and portfolio management. He has led and executed strategic plans for boutique, mid-size and publicly held companies, including a recent principal-owner role in growing a start-up real estate development company into a $650MM portfolio of assets. John excels at property assemblage/acquisition, entitlement, financial modeling and project financing of residential and commercial developments and has served as a key liaison with all facets of development resources, including construction, architectural, engineering, environmental, design and municipal/government teams.

April has worked on over 20 affiliated investment funds and operating companies. As the Corporate Controller, April is responsible for all accounting functions, accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, financial reporting, new business due diligence, budgeting, audit and tax oversight.

Andy was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse for 20+ years, most recently as the Global Head of Real Estate and Workplace Strategy responsible for strategic development and implementation for Credit Suisse’s global office and data center real estate portfolio which at its peak exceeded 22 million square feet in 46 countries with an annual budget exceeding $500 million. In this role, Andy was also responsible for the bank’s global real estate disposal program which generated sale proceeds in excess of $5 billion through sale and sale-leasebacks of bank-owned properties.

With a long history of service in the City of Tampa, Bob is EVP & Principal U.S. Cities Practice for Shumaker Advisors Florida, where he provides communications strategy, public affairs consulting, and business development services across Florida. Prior to that, Buckhorn was the Mayor of Tampa, Florida – a city that has been recognized as one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country (U.S. Census) and a top 50 city for business (Inc.). Mayor Buckhorn laid the foundation for Tampa to compete with other top tier cities by fostering a culture of inclusiveness, responsiveness, and determination.
